Silver Sneakers Fitness Program
Muscular Strength & Range of Motion
Have fun and move to the music through a
variety of exercises designed to
increase muscular strength, range of
movement, and activity for daily living
skills. Hand-held weights, elastic
tubing with handles, and a ball all
offer resistance, and a chair is used
for seated and/or standing support.
“Get fit, have fun, make friends!”
Class Goals:
• Encourage individuals to take control of their personal health status.
• To improve overall fitness and promote health education.
• Encouraging utilization of equipment and to progressively increase
muscular
strength and/or aerobics capacity.
• Provide a group exercise environment that encourages socialization in a
class
setting and with peers.
• Class is very energetic
• Class is taught from both seated and standing positions.
• All by using light weights, balls, and bands.

Y Water Aerobics
encourages people of all ages
to use the buoyant qualities of water to
enhance their physical fitness through
exercises. Water can make some movements
possible that would be very difficult on
land. It’s an ideal form of exercise for
all ages and increases physical strength
and endurance without putting stress and
strain on joints, as in land-based
exercise. Swimmers and non-swimmers
alike can take part in this type of
exercise to reduce emotional stress and
tension, improve health and physical
appearance, and encourage and improve
felling of well-being and self esteem.

Beginner Water Aerobics
Low impact water
aerobics is designed to burn
calories, while improving
your endurance. A
stimulating warm-up will
start this program to ensure
an effective workout,
followed by twenty minutes
of exhilarating low impact
aerobics, and finished with
a soothing cool down that
will leave you feeling
great. No swimming skills
are needed but there are
shallow and deep-water
exercises (floatation belts
are used for the deep
water).

Advanced Water Aerobics
Looking for a
fun, friendly way to
exercise without impact on
the joint? This class is
great for those who prefer a
high intensity
cardiovascular and muscular
conditioning workout. no
swimming skills are needed
for class. This class
consists of both shallow and
deep-water exercise
(floatation belts are used
for the deep water). Class
is finished with 5 to 8
minutes of abdominal burning
workout. |

Low Impact Ball
Aerobics Ball aerobics is a
great way to get in shape! This class
consists of using an exercise ball or
“Swiss Ball” and lightweights that are
used to do a variety of different
exercises. Some of the benefits to doing
ball exercises are development of core
muscles, muscle toning, flexibility and
balance. Individuals have the
flexibility to work at their own pace
and gradually increase weights and
exercises. This low impact fitness class
can also meet the fitness needs of
individuals of all ages.

Glutes & Abs
“Slim Your Waist and Flatten Your
Tummy!”
This class will work your glutes
(bottom) and abdominal (stomach) muscles
through a structured workout routine.
The class will target the specific areas
of your abs, glutes and thighs and help
you tone and tighten those areas. Is it
time for the belly to be gone or to have
a smaller waistline? Then this class is
for you.
