Y Water Aerobics

Y Water Aerobics encourages people of all ages to use the buoyant qualities of water to enhance their physical fitness through exercises. Water can make some movements possible that would be very difficult on land. It's an ideal form of exercise for all ages and increases physical strength and endurance without putting stress and strain on joints, as in land-based exercise. Swimmers and non-swimmers alike can take part in this type of exercise to reduce emotional stress and tension, improve health and physical appearance, and encourage and improve feelings of well-being and self-esteem.

 

Low Impact Water Aerobics
Low impact water aerobics is designed to burn calories, while improving your endurance. A stimulating warm-up will start this program to ensure an effective workout, followed by twenty minutes of exhilarating low impact aerobics, and finished with a soothing cool down that will leave you feeling great. No swimming skills are needed but there are shallow and deep-water exercises (floatation belts are used for the deep water).

High Impact Water Aerobics
Looking for a fun, friendly way to exercise without impact on the joint? This class is great for those who prefer a high intensity cardiovascular and muscular conditioning workout. no swimming skills are needed for class. This class consists of both shallow and deep-water exercise (floatation belts are used for the deep water). Class is finished with 5 to 8 minutes of abdominal burning workout.

Piranha Swim Team Summer competitive swim team for youth who can swim one lap of the pool. Learn stroke technique with boys and girls in a fun, relaxed competitive environment. Team practices two afternoons a week during June and July. Travel to other local YMCAs for meets approximately one per week.
