ABOUT Y MEMBERSHIP

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
These documents are required along with the completed application form to apply for a People Helping People membership Scholarship.

Copy of prior year’s tax return. If you do not have a copy, you may obtain one by contacting the Internal Revenue Service at 800-828-1040.
Copy of at least two current pay stubs.
Copy of Social Security or Disability checks, or copy of bank statement showing amount of automatic monthly deposit.
Copy of unemployment check, child support or alimony payment, or copy of bank statement showing amount of automatic monthly deposit.
Copy of verification of Rent assistance, ADC, food stamps, or other forms of assistance.

“A Place for Everyone” The Pike County YMCA is a available to everyone. Helping people become the best they can be is what the YMCA is all about. Every day, the Pike County YMCA works to promote the healthy development of children, to build positive behavior in teens, and to strengthen the families we serve. Since 2002 the Pike County YMCA has been committed to helping people grow in Spirit, Mind, and Body. As an extension of our personal pricing assistance program we also have a program to assist youth and teenagers with scholarships for membership.

Our People Helping People Membership Program helps those youth and teenagers whose circumstances do not fall under the Personal Pricing Membership program. Through the People Helping People Scholarship Program memberships are awarded to youth and teenagers without charge provided financial income documentation is supplied with application. All memberships are awarded in 6 month increments. Additionally, you can take comfort that all personal information you provide is kept completely confidential.

All YMCA members receive the same membership benefits, regardless of whether or not they are receiving a scholarship or are participating in the Personal Pricing Membership Program. YMCA members can feel confident knowing that they are part of an organization that cares greatly for the health and well-being of all people, and is committed to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

How to Apply

1.	Simply complete the application form (click here) .
2.	Gather requested information that applies to your home situation.
3.	Bring completed application along with requested income verification to the Y.
4.	Your application will be reviewed and you will receive written notification about the next steps.

Consider a contribution to our People Helping People Program. A small donation will allow one more child to become a member of the Pike County YMCA.
